    What is the purpose of the text? In academic writing the following rhetorical modes are usually considered:
    Narrative: A narrative text, using the first person, is common in action research papers where one is recalling personal accounts of some past experience.
    Description: A descriptive text sets out to state what, how, when, where, etc. of particular phenomena.
    Exposition: An exposition explains why or justifies a particular position.
    Argumentation: An argument typically contains an initial claim, a counter claim, and a rebuttal in an effort to persuade someone to think differently and/or to take action.
